Summer
is finally here which means it’s times to pack a bag full of
knitting or crochet and head out into the sunshine. Here at
knitshop.co.uk we’ve some
perfect portable projects for you to get your teeth into as you soak
up the summer rays. You can even wear what you’ve made!
On
Friday 11 July we’ll be learning to Crochet
A Summer Hat. Your hat is made using a combination of doubles,
trebles, half trebles and slip stitches, so we’ll show you how to
crochet any of these stitches you’ve not encountered before. We’ll
also show you just how easy it is to crochet in the round. You’ll
have a choice of crochet yarns to choose from and a pattern (plus
instructions on how to read it) so you can complete your sun hat at
home (or in the garden).
To
complete the stylish summer look, on Friday 18 July we’ll be
showing you how to Crochet
A Summer Bag. Our crochet tutor will show you everything you need
to get started with crochet, from holding the hook to turning your
first chains and making your first stitches.
On
the 25th we’ll be making Crocheted
Facecloth Squares and Decorative Flowers. Why not add a flower to
your crocheted hat? If you’ve never tried crochet before, the
Crochet
Squares class on 25 July is a good place to start. We run this
class alongside the Let’s
Get Hooked beginners’ crochet class. The latter is popular with
youngsters, but is just as suitable for adults wanting to learn new
needlecraft skills.
If
you fancy something a little different, why not try our Jewellery
Making class on Friday 4 July? We’ll show you how to combine
beads and crochet to make lovely necklaces. You can even add pieces
of felt to make a striking chunky design. This two-hour class is
suitable for anyone. No prior crochet knowledge is needed.
If
knitting is more your thing, we’ve several classes this month to
help you get better results. Come along to one of our Knitting
Finishing Techniques classes or rescue an ailing project with our
Fixing Knitting Mistakes days.
With
the exception of our monthly SOS
class, which is free but you need to pre-book, all knitshop.co.uk
workshops cost £15 and last two hours. Children’s classes cost
£10 each. A parent or guardian needs to be present.
Classes
are held from 11am to 1pm at our 326 Lee High Road boutique outlet
and are taught by our qualified, experienced tutors. Basic materials
and patterns are provided, as are refreshments.
To
book a class, just follow the links below, add the class to your
shopping basket and choose ‘self pick-up’ at checkout.
