wow my last post seems like a very long time ago!!
I have just returned from my teaching course I'm doing at the moment. Very interesting, I'm enjoying it a lot!
Alexandra Palace Knitting & Stitching Show - feels like a long time ago already too... although the boxes are still pilled up everywhere and I dont seem to be able to empty them fast enough! The shop has been busy over the past few days, people buying the stuff out of the show boxes, in fact I have had complains that we were closed during the show week!! Good sign isn't it!?
I'm starting to get ready for the next Knitting & Stitching Show, I have booked the flights to Dublin, the knitting needles and yarn are ordered.... Crochet Flower for beginners and Fair Isle knitted wrist warmer combined with continental knitting. Two very interesting topics, looking forward to people's feedback! Watch this space, as these patterns will come out here and on knitshop.co.uk
Good news about the shop, we will be open on "most" Sundays till Christmas (9.30am - 1.30pm). I'm saying most because unfortunately it will be closed the Sundays I'm gone to the Shows.
Come along for free knitting and needle felting workshops, free knitting & crochet surgery or just to have a chat. I'll be at the shop 9.30am - 1.30pm, bring your knitting/crochet along if you are stuck and need help.
Children are welcome!
Not much left to say for today.... see you at the show or at the shop!
Happy Knitting

Knitting
My current project is a pair of wrist warmers, this is the sample piece we will work with on this years workshops at Alexandra Palace.
Yes, Alexandra Palace is less than two weeks away, in fact today in two weeks is the last day!! - scary isn't it.....
Knitshop.co.uk will be at Stand D15 - as every year. I'm looking forward to the show. I have two great workshops lined up: Fair Isle Knitting using continental and enlgish knitting techniques and Beginners Crochet.
Still so much to prepare before the show!
A little more about the wrist warmers, some pictures and after the show and the free pattern - after the show to come.
Enjoy the last days of summer and keep knitting!

Weekend
Hi everyone!
Its Saturday today - the weekend has come... - the shop at 326 Lee High Road is closed today, but we are having some free knitting workshops at the Lewisham Country Fair tomorrow afternoon. Please let it me nice weather and lots of people!!
This week has been busy, the online shop is picking up again, after the holidays. And in the shop it has been busy too. I had at least one large sale per day plus lots of people popping in to find out where we are.... Mostly people who live around Hither Green, Lee Green and Blackheath. I have also had a lovely lady from the Hither Green Knitting Group. I will go and visit them on Tuesday.
So far so good for today, I'm off to visit Brick Lane today.
Keep knitting!

Walk in
Yesterday - Tuesday 15th September - we had our first "walk in" customer. He came to purchase some wool tops for his mother, who wanted to get back into spinning.
He was the first person visiting and purchasing in the shop without knowing knitshop.co.uk existed.
This is very exciting :-)
We have had a few people in the shop, picking up their orders from the online shop or just browsing and having a look at the yarn and wool.
The shop is coming along pretty well already. We set up a few shelves and filled them with yarn, prepared the chests with special offer yarn and also have a few other boxes ready with some nice wool tops and yarn goodies.
I have made a few pictures today, I'll try and post them on the blog later today or tomorrow.
Happy Knitting

Back from the Show
This Friday and Saturday was the I Knit Show in London.
I spent my time on the Knitonthenet stand, advising the fellow knitters of the Mulberry Silk yarn, Chinese Silk yarn, Bamboo Knitting needles, Pattern and so much more..... I had two great days.
I enjoyed working with Susan and Gavin from Knitonthenet, had real fun meeting lots of new people and... the best time of all - the dinner conversations after a nice and busy day.
Now about my fashion appearances:
- Friday I wore the Moss Stitch Jumper knitted from the book A Stitch In Time, knitted in fine milk/cotton yarn
- Saturday I was wearing the Frilly Sleeves Jumper also a pattern from A Stitch In Time, knitted Mulberry silk yarn
The garments from A Stitch In Time look even better in real... I think I know what I am going to be doing over the next few months in the evenings! I'm looking forward to start my first project from the book. My choice is the cardigan "To Wear in the Evenings" for my mums birthday in the Mulberry silk yarn.
Happy Knitting!

Decorating
Hi,
The new office/shop is coming along pretty well now.
We sanded the floor, which was a bit of a nightmare and took much longer than expected. We stained the floor twice already, just one more coat required and decorated the walls. The upstairs shop/showroom should be ready by tonight!!
The stock is everywhere at the moment, part of the stock has been moved already and part of the stock is still at the old studio. However I hope everything will be moved very soon now..... All boxes are labeled and numbered so we can still operate the online shop: www.knitshop.co.uk - pack and post all orders.
Everything should be moved and starting to be back to normal from the 4th August.
Our moving sale is still on, I will add some more items later today.
With the move I have not had much time for knitting, but I will post some pictures of knitted items as soon as possible. Meanwhile you can find them on the Knitshop Facebook page.
I hope to see you all soon at the new shop.
Bye for now!
